Devlog #13 - Steam Store Page

Hey guys,

It was not easy but I finally manage to get a store page on Steam :D (I've never been so excited in front of an email !)

Store Page - Essence Of The Tjikko

And on top of that, it happens just before my birthday, you can imagine how thrilled I was.

I started the process months ago, but I stopped it until I got a proper trailer, and then I needed to do every assets Steam ask for the store page.

To do that, I started by watching the other store pages of indie games and looked how polished it was (I wont do the best of the best , ain't got time to do that). So I found some smart ideas , some visual codes and ways to be meaningful and catchy

For the icons and banners, I reused my concept in different ways. Paintings are always a safe bet for still images. But for the description, I added some gifs with punchlines to amuse a bit the page. I also found finally the font I needed for my game (a free font of course, we like the cheap).

I also got a dilemna for the title. The game I will sell for now is just the beginning of a greater adventure. So is it a prototype ? Not really because it is not ugly enough (good or bad, prototypes are ugly). Is it the first chapter ? That would mean I have to launch my game one chapter after another, and I don't want to commit to doing that. Finally I came with the idea of a prologue ( a bit like how Kingdom Hearts manage its spinoffs). I know that some people wont like this vagueness, but it is the most honest way to call my game.

So I need to make my game clean enough to start posting it on steam, and to do that I need to work on the UI (my bête noire)  and a proper pause menu with saves and inventory system :D

I leave you with WIP screenshots of it.

See Ya !
