Devlog #7 A lucky number


Hey guys,

Yesterday I got an inteleon shiny and a secret sylveon V in pokemon card boosters. I m in a winning streak :D

Kind of a relief after my exhausting week, full of debug, shot captures and finally made a trailer. I haven't work on a editing software since a looong time, and I kind of proud of what I've done. 

I'm not gonna publish it for now, because it's still wobbly in the rythm and a bit weak for the narrative. But I also want to do a visual upgrade before redoing the trailer. 

I thank again my friend Philippe Reinhart for the music : he manage to quickly find the spirit of the game and put it in music, I love it !

On the game side, I did some features to ease the user experience : 

  • the UI is now giving feedback : the ether bar flickers during its consumption, and the button icons react, when the player use them, or when an interact is available .
  • I added a post process feature to highlight interactable elements. Some will say it's bad for the immersion, because it's not realistic, but I don't like this kind of reasoning.
  • I manage to code a procedural cinematic : when the player triggers a terminal, it will create a camera focusing on the terminal's target, and the player view will switch with this camera for an instant. Thus, it will help the player to understand what is he doing.

That's all for today. This week I will focus on cleaning the final puzzle structure, retake the lighting and the post process, and finish that damn cover. I also need to debug the UI and swim feature, then on spare time, I will write on  4th dungeon design.
